Taguig RTC lifts block on Meralco's 1,000-MW bidding process for cost-effective power supply.

The Taguig Regional Trial Court has lifted a block on Manila Electric Co. (Meralco)'s 1,000-megawatt (MW) bidding process, allowing the firm to continue with its search for cost-effective power supply. Meralco can now resume bidding for both 600-MW and 400-MW contracts, with new bid bulletins issued for the timelines. The company's power procurement is essential to meet growing energy demand within its franchise coverage, including Metro Manila and nearby provinces. The CSPs, involving 600 MW and 400 MW power supply requirements, were initially halted by a Taguig RTC-issued temporary restraining order.
