Florida and Maryland consider localized Purple Alerts for missing adults with disabilities.
Florida considers narrowing its Purple Alerts for missing adults with disabilities to local, countywide notifications, supported by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and not affecting Amber and Silver Alerts. Maryland is considering a Purple Alert program to help locate missing people with special needs, including cognitive impairments, intellectual or developmental disabilities, or brain injuries, with state police creating a rapid dissemination system and training law enforcement agencies.
