11-year-old autistic boy and senior with Alzheimer's died after going missing; families urge Ontario government to create a new alert system for vulnerable individuals, inspired by Amber Alerts.
11-year-old boy with autism and a senior with Alzheimer's disease, both of whom died after going missing, have families urging the Ontario government to create a new alert system to protect vulnerable individuals. A private member's bill, similar to Amber Alerts, from New Democrat Monique Taylor is being studied by a legislative committee. The bill was inspired by the stories of Draven Graham, who drowned in 2022, and Shirley Love, who died in December of the same year after leaving her home unprepared for winter weather.
