Aged Care Commissioner Carolyn Cooper found Calvary Hospital Southland Limited breached the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights for hospital-level care provided to a resident. The elderly woman, with multiple health conditions, experienced a decline in mobility and was advised against walking. Despite this, she suffered a fall and later passed away after being admitted to palliative care. The commissioner concluded that the rest home care contributed to the woman's death due to its inadequacy.
