Lethbridge Shelter & Resource Centre receives $4M grant, expands capacity to 200 spaces and adds 30 stabilization beds, with a partnership agreement between Blood Tribe and provincial government.

The Lethbridge Shelter and Resource Centre is expanding its capacity from 120 spaces to 200 spaces, and adding 30 stabilization beds, through a $4-million capital grant from the provincial government. The facility was owned by the City of Lethbridge but has been transferred to the Lethbridge Housing Authority through an in-kind donation worth $1.4 million. The Blood Tribe, which has been operating the facility for over a year, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the provincial government to confirm their partnership moving forward. The expansion is expected to occur on the same lot as the existing shelter.
