Indigenous peoples on James Bay coast receive $1.2bn for Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) hospital redevelopment project. Funding will support construction of a new hospital facility, administrative offices, staff accommodations, and a dedicated Ambulatory Care Centre on Moose Factory Island. This investment, in addition to $1.3bn previously committed by Ontario, aims to address creeping privatization in healthcare.
