Lyft expands nationally its Women Plus Connect feature, connecting female/nonbinary riders with drivers of the same gender for enhanced safety.

Lyft is expanding its Women Plus Connect feature nationwide after its initial launch in five cities. The feature aims to improve safety and recruit more female and nonbinary users by matching these riders and drivers. Since its rollout, over 2.4 million riders have activated the feature. Drivers are not required to participate and can opt out. The feature prioritizes matching riders and drivers who identify as women or nonbinary if they both have the feature activated.
