The Saskatchewan government awarded a $898 million contract to PCL Construction Management Inc. for the construction of a new Prince Albert Victoria Hospital. The project is the largest single investment in Prince Albert's history and will increase acute care beds by 40%, expand mental health beds, and enlarge the emergency department. PCL had previously managed the early works phase of the project. The hospital will feature a heliport, a First Nations and Métis Cultural space, and is expected to be completed by 2028.
