Premier David Eby announced plans for a new critical care tower at Surrey Memorial Hospital in British Columbia to provide specialized care services and reduce pressure on the overcrowded emergency room. The project is expected to be in the business-planning phase over the next 15-18 months and will add capacity for surgical, pediatric, perinatal, women's health, mental health, and stroke care services.
