9th Circuit Court denies Jewish family's claim to painting in Nazi looting case.

A US federal appellate court has rejected a plea for the return of a famous painting by Camille Pissarro, "Rue Saint-Honoré in the Afternoon. Effect of Rain," which was looted from a Jewish family by the Nazis during World War II. The painting, owned by the Spanish government, will remain in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, not the descendants of Lilly Cassirer, who was forced to hand it over in exchange for her freedom in 1939.
