Working past 50 improves health and well-being for many older Americans, survey finds.

A University of Michigan poll found that working past age 50 boosts physical, mental, and overall well-being for many older Americans. Among those aged 50 and over, 69% work in-person, with 32% of those over 65 reporting very positive physical health impacts and 41% noting mental health benefits. While 88% of older workers are satisfied with their jobs, challenges like age discrimination and limited transportation persist. The survey involved 3,486 adults aged 50 to 94.
