Rare "Harry Potter" first edition with a printing error sells for £18,000 at auction.

A rare first edition of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," one of the first 500 printed in 1997, sold for £18,000 at an auction in Devon. The book, a library edition with a spelling error and an extra "1 wand" listed on page 53, was expected to fetch between £20,000 and £30,000. The limited initial print run due to uncertainty about its popularity has made these editions highly valuable.
