Lecturers at University of the West Indies end dispute over grades with 6% wage increase.

Lecturers at the University of the West Indies in St. Augustine have accepted a 6% wage increase, resolving a dispute that led to the withholding of over 20,000 students' grades. The agreement covers the period from 2014 to 2020 and was made after the WIGUT union accepted a 0-0-3, 0-0-3 wage proposal. While the settlement is seen as a step towards restoring peace, union president Dr. Indira Rampersad noted it doesn't solve all issues, and the university principal expressed concern about losing academic staff.
