Scientists develop blood test that predicts lung cancer outcomes by detecting tumor DNA levels.
Scientists from the Francis Crick Institute and UCL have developed a blood test that detects circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), which can predict lung cancer outcomes. The test, called NeXT Personal, found that patients with lower ctDNA levels before surgery had better survival rates and were less likely to relapse. This could lead to more personalized treatment plans and better outcomes for early-stage lung cancer patients.
