Man arrested for trying to cook and eat injured bald eagle; bird rescued, under treatment.

A man was arrested on Vancouver's Lions Gate Bridge for carrying an injured juvenile bald eagle he planned to cook and eat. The eagle, suffering from an eye injury and lead poisoning, was rescued and is being treated by the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society. Mental health is considered a factor in the case, which is under investigation by the B.C. Conservation Officer Service. Authorities reminded the public that it is illegal to possess or harm bald eagles.
