Two teens were rescued from icy river waters near Thompson, Manitoba, in dangerous -21°C conditions.

In Thompson, Manitoba, a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were rescued after their snowmobile broke through river ice in -21°C temperatures on January 1. The man initially fell into the river but managed to get back onto the ice. Authorities used jackets and a raft to reach the stranded individuals, who were about 20-30 feet from shore. Both were taken to the hospital as a precaution and later released. The rescue was described as dangerous and challenging due to the freezing temperatures and late hour.
