Lebanon agrees to arrest and potentially extradite Jamil Hassan, accused of war crimes by the U.S. and Interpol.

Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, announced that the country will cooperate with an Interpol request to arrest Jamil Hassan, a former Syrian intelligence officer accused of war crimes, including torture and murder. Hassan is also sought by the U.S. for his role in war crimes during the Syrian civil war and by France for the disappearance and death of a French-Syrian family. Lebanon will detain Hassan if he is found in the country, with the goal of possible extradition to the U.S.
