Scientists unearth a 50,000-year-old well-preserved baby mammoth in Siberia's thawing permafrost.

Scientists in Siberia have uncovered the remarkably well-preserved remains of a baby mammoth, estimated to be over 50,000 years old, in the thawing permafrost of the Batagaika crater. Named "Yana," the baby mammoth weighs over 110 kg and is one of the best-preserved specimens ever found, offering valuable insights into the Ice Age. The discovery comes amid other prehistoric finds in the region, including a 32,000-year-old sabre-toothed cat cub and a 44,000-year-old wolf carcass.
