On December 15, a nine-year-old child was burned after a fire sparked by playing with a candle in Chattanooga. The fire, contained to a bedroom, displaced the family just before Christmas. The Chattanooga Fire Department responded and transported the child to the hospital. Also, a car fire at 830 Eastgate Loop occurred early Sunday morning, caused by a propane heater. The flames spread to a nearby building, and the car's occupant was hospitalized with burns.
