BOEM outlines 58 environmental measures for offshore wind development in the New York Bight.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has outlined environmental measures for wind energy development in the New York Bight, an area offshore New York and New Jersey. The six lease areas, covering over 488,000 acres, could generate up to 7 GW of offshore wind energy, sufficient to power about two million homes. BOEM identified 58 measures to minimize environmental impacts. The measures will be considered in developers' plans submitted to BOEM for review.
