Large coin hoard from Iron Age and Roman era, valued over £100,000, found near Worcester.

A hoard of 1,368 Iron Age and Roman coins, dating back to Emperor Nero's reign and worth over £100,000, was discovered on a building site near Worcester. Known as the "Worcestershire Conquest Hoard," it includes silver denarii from the Roman Republic and a single gold Iron Age stater. The hoard, one of the largest from the Roman Conquest period, is believed to belong to a wealthy farmer who supplied the Roman army. It is now being declared treasure, with local museums aiming to raise £6,000 to display it.
