A rare Roman coin from Emperor Carausius' reign was found by 73-year-old Mike Clark in South Brewham, Somerset, in June. The silver denarius, featuring Carausius' bust, is anticipated to sell for £6,000 to £8,000 at Noonans Mayfair auction on October 22. Carausius, who briefly declared Britain an independent state in AD 286, was later murdered by his finance minister. Proceeds will be shared with the landowner.
