Researchers decode Viking inscription on Scottish treasure, revealing it belonged to a community.

Researchers at National Museums Scotland have translated a runic inscription on the Galloway Hoard, a Viking Age treasure found in 2014, as "This is the community's wealth/property." The translation suggests the hoard belonged to a communal group, possibly a religious community, and was part of a three-year research project. The arm ring with the inscription will be displayed in Adelaide as part of an international exhibition.
