An Indian man impersonated an IAS officer, threatening a law student to marry him or face violence.

Deepak Kumar, a man from Lucknow, India, has been charged for impersonating an IAS officer and threatening an LLB student to marry him or face violence. Kumar contacted the student in 2020, falsely claiming to be an IAS officer and sent his Aadhaar details. The student found out he worked in a private company in Delhi and had cheated other women. Kumar faces charges under sections of the Indian Penal Code and IT (Amendment) Act, but remains at large.
