Trials in New Zealand show regenerative farming is improving soil health and crop yields.

Regenerative farming trials in Gisborne, New Zealand, are showing early signs of success in revitalizing soils used for intensive vegetable farming. Supported by Woolworths, LeaderBrand, and the government, the project uses compost and cover crops to improve soil health. After a year, the soil is breathing better, storing more moisture, and yielding improved spinach and mesclun crops. Researchers plan a detailed analysis in early 2025 to measure the full two-year impact on soil health.
