A study by Charles Sturt University, led by Associate Professor Richard Culas, shows that farmers in Southern New South Wales are benefiting economically from using organic waste as fertilizers. The research evaluates financial and environmental impacts, including energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. A survey of 61 local farmers revealed a positive experience with organic fertilizers, outweighing any negative effects, particularly among mixed farming systems.
