Kraft Heinz has removed its Lunchables from the National School Lunch Program due to low demand and sales. Introduced in 2022, the school-specific Lunchables were designed to meet nutritional standards with reduced sodium and added protein. However, they faced criticism over high sodium and lead levels. Consumer Reports found these levels exceeded recommended limits. Despite plans to revisit the idea, the company stated school sales were less than 1% of total Lunchables sales.
