Kraft Heinz ends school Lunchables due to low demand and criticism over sodium levels.

Kraft Heinz has stopped providing Lunchables meals to U.S. schools due to low demand. Introduced in 2022, the protein-enriched and lower-sodium meals were meant to meet school lunch program standards. However, nutritionists criticized the high sodium levels, and tests by Consumer Reports found higher sodium and lead content in school versions. Sales of school Lunchables were less than 1% of total Lunchables sales, leading to Kraft Heinz's decision to withdraw from the market.
