Consumer Reports petitions USDA to remove school Lunchables due to excessive sodium levels.

Consumer Reports has petitioned the USDA to remove school Lunchables from school lunch programs due to their excessive sodium levels. The watchdog group tested Lunchables and similar lunch kits, finding that sodium levels in school versions of Lunchables contained 930 mg of sodium compared to 740 mg in store-bought versions. Consumer Reports claims Lunchables contain concerning levels of lead and sodium, and should not be allowed on school menus.
