St. Albert, Canada, fights EV cable thefts by installing protective steel-lined sleeves.
St. Albert, Canada, is protecting its electric vehicle (EV) charging cables from theft by installing steel-lined sleeves. After replacing 12 stolen cables in November, costing around $2,795, the city is piloting a $2,400 project using sleeves from U.S. company CatStrap. If successful, the city plans to extend this protection to all its charging stations. No cable thefts have been reported since August.
