Endangered Kemp's ridley sea turtle Boeier returned to Gulf of Mexico after being rescued in the Netherlands.

An endangered Kemp's ridley sea turtle named Boeier, found entangled in a fishing net 5,000 miles away off the coast of the Netherlands, was returned to its native Gulf of Mexico on November 4. After being rescued and rehabilitated at the Rotterdam Zoo, Boeier was flown to Houston for further care before its release. Kemp's ridley sea turtles are the smallest sea turtle species and have been endangered since 1970.
