Researchers test if red wine, aspirin, and metformin can prevent bowel cancer in a new study.

A new study called Colo-Prevent is testing if red wine, aspirin, and metformin can prevent bowel cancer. Researchers aim to recruit about 1,300 patients with bowel polyps, which can develop into cancer. Participants will take aspirin, aspirin and metformin, purified resveratrol from red grapes, or a placebo for varying periods. The trial, led by Professor Karen Brown, will run across 60 locations in England and Wales and could offer new prevention methods for high-risk individuals.
