Five of New York State's 27 speed cameras, designed to enhance safety in construction zones, are situated in Central New York. Established under legislation from September 2022, these cameras rotate weekly among construction sites. They photograph speeding vehicles and their license plates, sending fines to vehicle owners for repeated offenses: a $75 fine for a second violation and $100 for a third or more within 18 months.
