Oregon has removed 302 individuals from its voter rolls for failing to prove citizenship, bringing the total to 1,561 erroneous registrations linked to DMV errors. These issues arose from a 2019 law permitting some non-citizens to obtain driver's licenses and the 2016 Motor Voter law, which automatically registers voters. Governor Tina Kotek and Secretary of State LaVonne Griffin-Valade have called for an independent audit of the Motor Voter system to restore public trust.
