14,375 Tennessee voters receive citizenship proof requests, no removal without response.

Tennessee election officials clarified that recipients of a letter requesting proof of citizenship from 14,375 registered voters won't be removed from voter rolls if they don't respond. Nearly 3,200 have provided evidence of U.S. citizenship, while over 300 have requested to be removed from the voter rolls. The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation informed the state of plans to sue over the initial letters.
