Ohio Governor declares state of emergency in 4 counties after Tropical System Helene causes damage.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency for Lawrence, Jackson, Pike, and Scioto counties on September 28, following severe weather from Tropical System Helene on September 27. The storms caused high winds, flooding, downed trees, and power outages, damaging homes and infrastructure. This declaration will expedite assistance and facilitate collaboration between the Ohio Emergency Management Agency and local emergency management offices for recovery efforts.
