Kentucky Governor declares state of emergency due to tornado damage and severe weather.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has declared a state of emergency after severe storms with a tornado, heavy rain, large hail, and strong winds hit the state, damaging homes, vehicles, and public infrastructure. The tornado had 115 mph winds and crossed the Ohio River from Indiana. The state of emergency allows further help for affected communities and families, including opening General Butler State Resort Park, and activates the state's price gouging laws to protect residents from overpriced goods and services during recovery efforts.
