Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency in 12 northern Florida counties due to severe storms causing damage, power outages, and one death. The affected counties include Baker, Columbia, Gadsden, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor, and Wakulla. Emergency crews are working on cleanup efforts, and power restoration is ongoing. The state's emergency management plan will be activated in response to the emergency.
