Purple Rose Technologies seeks $62m to establish a 50MW solar plant in Zimbabwe to address a power shortfall.

Purple Rose Technologies, a Zimbabwean company, is seeking $62 million to establish a 50-megawatt solar photovoltaic plant in Mashonaland West. The initiative aims to address the country's power shortfall, as current generation falls between 1,000MW and 1,500MW against a demand exceeding 2,000MW. The project will consist of four fields, each producing about 12.5MW, and will utilize monocrystalline panels on a tracking system. Local pension funds may acquire up to 30% ownership.
