Singapore's Competition and Consumer Commission (CCCS) investigated and penalized Sterra for false and misleading claims about its purifiers and water quality.

Singapore's Competition and Consumer Commission (CCCS) investigated Sterra, a purifier company, over false and misleading claims about its air and water purifiers, and Singapore's tap water quality. Sterra issued an apology and pledged to cease such practices. The company falsely claimed Singapore's tap water needed filtering through its purifiers, and made misleading claims about the origin of its products. CCCS found that Sterra's air purifiers were made in China, while water purifiers were neither sourced from nor manufactured in Korea. Sterra has committed to implementing an internal policy ensuring marketing materials comply with fair trading laws and will not engage in unfair trade practices in the future.
