Toronto Police Service's first Black female superintendent, Stacy Clarke, has been demoted to the rank of inspector for two years after admitting to helping six junior officers cheat in the 2021 sergeant promotional process. Clarke pleaded guilty to seven counts of misconduct and was found guilty of breach of confidence, discreditable conduct, and other offences under the Police Services Act. This demotion is the first of its kind for a Black female officer in Toronto.
