Two Toronto police officers have admitted to misconduct for the arrest and Tasering of a young Black university student, Hasani O'Gilvie, in 2021, due to "mistaken identity." Const. Seth Rietkoetter and Sgt. Rachel Saliba, who were involved in the botched arrest, have pleaded guilty to using unnecessary force and making an unlawful arrest. O'Gilvie was walking to an exam when the officers stopped him and unlawfully detained him.
