Syrian journalist Bakr Qassim, who works for Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Turkey's Anadolu Agency, has been arrested by Turkish-backed authorities in rebel-held northwestern Syria. His wife, Nabiha Taha, and rights groups report that Qassim was arrested as he and his wife finished their work. Qassim was allegedly beaten and held with several charges, including preparing press reports for multiple parties. His current circumstances remain unknown, and international journalists and activists are calling for his release, as well as for the release of other detained journalists and activists.
