3 Legionnaires' disease cases linked to Missouri's Roaring River Lodge; DHSS investigating, resort taking action.
3 cases of Legionnaires' disease have been linked to Missouri's Roaring River Lodge and RV Park, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The DHSS is currently investigating the lodge's water system and is working with the resort to make improvements to kill off the Legionella bacteria. The resort will notify all recent guests who stayed at the hotel section of the facility. Most healthy people do not get sick from exposure to Legionella, but people aged 50 or older, smokers, and those with certain medical conditions may be at higher risk. The DHSS advises those who have experienced pneumonia symptoms within two weeks of staying, working at, or visiting the Roaring River Lodge and RV Park to seek medical attention.
