GVSU police department adds Labrador Retriever K-9 officer Scout for campus safety, major event support, and community outreach.
Grand Valley State University (GVSU) has added a new K-9 officer, Scout, to its police department. The 2-year-old Labrador Retriever completed a four-week training program with his handler, Officer Paul Weaver, in explosives detection and rescue operations. Scout will help enhance campus safety during major events, engage in outreach work, and serve as a softer connection with the university community.
