NASA's Langley Research Center demonstrated Electra's EL-2 Goldfinch eSTOL aircraft's short takeoff and landing capabilities, completing a 120-mile flight using DEP and blown lift technology.

NASA Langley Research Center witnessed Electra's EL-2 Goldfinch, a hybrid-electric eSTOL demonstrator, showcase its short takeoff and landing capabilities. The aircraft, developed under NASA Space Act Agreement, completed a 120-mile cross-country flight using distributed electric propulsion (DEP) and blown lift technology, allowing takeoff and landing in under 150 feet. Electra plans to develop a 9-passenger eSTOL production aircraft for short- and medium-distance trips up to 500 miles, aiming to extend seamless air travel to all communities.
