Global aviation fuel demand forecasted to reach pre-pandemic levels by 2025 due to increased air travel, led by the Asia-Pacific region.

S&P Global Commodity Insights reports that global aviation fuel demand is expected to reach pre-pandemic levels by 2025, due to a 9.1% year-on-year increase in international air travel in June. Asia-Pacific led the growth with a 22.6% increase, followed by Africa and Latin America at 16.9% and 15.3% respectively. The annual average jet fuel demand growth has been a major driver of oil demand since 2021, with projections of jet fuel prices remaining above diesel prices through the end of the year and into 2023.
