24-year-old Alberta firefighter died in a tragic incident after being struck by a falling tree while battling wildfires near Jasper. The young firefighter, part of a 700-strong team, was transported to a hospital via STARS air ambulance but did not survive. Alberta's Occupational Health and Safety is investigating the cause of the firefighter's death, and Minister Todd Loewen expressed condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the fallen firefighter.
