On August 1, a deep fryer explosion at a Market Basket store in Plymouth, MA caused hot cooking oil to spray through the air, injuring a 79-year-old customer with severe burns, a store employee, and an 11-month-old infant. The Plymouth Fire Department and OSHA are investigating the incident, which led to cooking oil on the kitchen ceiling and grease splatter 15 feet away from the fryer. The injured were taken to separate hospitals for treatment.
