Northern Connecticut experienced a microburst Friday afternoon, causing significant damage in Simsbury, Granby, and East Windsor. The meteorological event led to downed trees, power lines, closed roads, and damage to several aircraft at Simsbury Airport, two of which were totaled. The First Congregational Church of East Windsor also suffered damage, with five trees falling near the church, one hitting the office, but no injuries were reported in any of these incidents.
